American Friends of Shomron

Samaria is the historic heartland of Israel – a region deeply connected to the history and heritage of the Jewish people and today home to vibrant and growing communities.

American Friends of Shomron is a U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting charitable initiatives that strengthen the communities of Samaria and improve the lives of their residents.

Through the generosity of our supporters, we help advance educational programs, community and public facilities, emergency preparedness, social welfare, preservation of historic and archaeological sites, cultural initiatives, and other projects that benefit the people and communities of Samaria.

We work to create lasting impact by identifying important community needs and supporting projects that make Samaria a stronger, safer, and more vibrant place to live.

Our Areas of Impact

We support the development, renovation, and improvement of public and community facilities that serve the residents of Samaria. Our goal is to help growing communities provide the infrastructure and shared spaces needed for strong community life, education, recreation, and public services.

We support educational initiatives that increase knowledge and understanding of Samaria - its history, heritage, communities, geography, and contemporary life. Through educational materials, programs, visits, and public information initiatives, we help people in the United States, Israel, and around the world discover the people, places, and story of Samaria.

Samaria contains some of the most significant historical and archaeological sites connected to the biblical history and heritage of the Land of Israel. We support projects that preserve and make these sites accessible, promote responsible tourism, and help visitors from Israel and around the world discover the history, landscape, and heritage of Samaria.

Education is an investment in the future. We support educational institutions, youth programs, learning initiatives, enrichment activities, and projects designed to provide children and families throughout Samaria with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

Strong communities are built not only through infrastructure, but through shared experiences. We support cultural, recreational, artistic, and sporting initiatives that bring people together, strengthen community life, and improve the quality of life of children, families, and residents throughout Samaria.

Communities must be prepared to respond when every second matters. We support emergency preparedness and lifesaving initiatives throughout Samaria, including emergency response equipment, medical and rescue resources, volunteer emergency teams, and other projects designed to protect lives and strengthen community resilience.

We support projects and equipment designed to improve the safety and protection of civilian communities in Samaria. These initiatives may include emergency communication systems, protective equipment, lighting, surveillance and warning systems, and other community safety infrastructure intended to protect residents and assist local emergency response teams.

To comply with IRS regulations regarding international grantmaking, the Board of Directors of American Friends of Shomron retains ultimate discretion, control, and oversight over all donated funds to ensure they are used strictly for their exempt charitable, educational, and humanitarian purposes.
